Native Irish speaker and sought-after instructor in Irish at workshops throughout the country (Montana, Minneapolis, Madison, Milwaukee – to mention only the M's), Jim will offer this workshop for beginners and those with some elementary knowledge of Irish (level and speed will be adjusted to meet the needs of the class). The aims of the workshop will be to introduce you to the sound system of Irish, to familiarize you with basic morphology (word formation and word structure) and with sentence construction, all of which differ from English. By the end of the workshop you will know some basic phrases, you will be able to ask questions, and you will have the tools to further your vocabulary. Handouts and some exercises will be provided.
