Jackson Irish Dancers, founded in 1998, is a non-profit corporation whose mission is to spread knowledge, enjoyment and understanding of traditional Irish dance through instruction, performance, and social gathering. In other words, we started this group so we’d have more people to dance with -- and so far, it’s working! We’re proud to sponsor CelticFest again this year.
JID offers classes in céilí and set dancing for adults, as well as solo dance classes for adults and kids ages 6 and up taught by Catherine Bishop, TCRG. We would also be glad to talk to you about performance bookings or calling your next céilí. Our performances feature modern and traditional sets; solo reels, jigs, slipjigs, hornpipes and set dances; and a variety of céilí dancing and choreographed dances.
