Anam Cara Irish Dancers

The members of Anam Cara Irish Dancers are close friends or siblings who danced together at various Irish step dancing schools. Anam Cara means soul friends, which is why we have come together.  Our purpose in dancing is for the pure fun and joy of it and to increase interest in Irish dance and Celtic Arts through our performances.  Because we do not dance competitively, we incorporate numerous styles of Irish dance, taking you on a mini dance “history” from the original Sean Nós style to more modern fusion pieces.  Most of the choreography is by the children themselves with help and steps from a variety of instructors. We are indebted to them for helping us grow. We embarked on this journey to find the fun and friendship of dancing a reel or jig and sharing that joy with others.  We hope we share some with you today!
