Crossroads Ceili Band
New Orleans, LA
The Crossroads Ceili Band was formed in 1998 to provide lively, traditional Irish music for both step-dancers and ceili-dancers. This New Orleans based instrumental band is known for their high energy and “big band” sound. Members include Kathi King on mandolin, K.C. King on concertina, Megan Morphy on guitar, Paul Morphy on tin whistle, fiddlers Eldon Silva, Debbie Cornett, Kevin Muggivan, and Richie Stafford (who doubles on flute), Noel Reid on vocals, and for the first time this year Celtic harpist Luke Brechtelsbauer & Pensacola fiddler Frances Michaels. Dancing is always allowed when Crossroads plays – it is their job to make you want to get up to dance, and it is a job they take seriously!
