Kula'Kúla' means 'brotherhood', 'family', and 'woven'. Kúla chose that name because they are family: seven friends that have grown up together, creating a bond that clearly shows in their music. The dynamics of love, friendship, and community make a synergy between them on stage. Kúla mixes their unique brand of music and ethnic rhythms together to weave an energetic style that people have called 'fever-pitched' and 'one of the most exciting things happening in the Irish music scene today.' Kúla is: Paul Hobbs on fiddle; Brian Copenhaver on button accordion and whistles; Ray Tyler on uilleann pipes, mandolin, whistle and fiddle; Joel Dickerson on flute and whistles; David Dickerson on guitar; Matthew Dickerson on bouzouki; Nathan Hobbs on bodhran and percussion; and Zemar Riggins on ethnic hand percussions.
