Irish Roots Trio

Kate Kane Laborde and Garrett McCutchan (formally of Celtic Gumbo) have been playing together for almost 10 years, combining Irish, Scottish, Breton traditional songs and tunes along with a few originals. Recently, the very talented Randy Walsh joined the fray. Kate (Vocals, 6 & 12 string guitars and bodhrán) tells stories through song while lending rhythm to the trio. Garrett (five-string fiddle, 6 & 12 string guitars, banjo and vocals) adds harmonies as well as showing his classical training through beautiful renditions of O’Carolan’s compositions. Randy (mandolin, fiddle, cello, guitar and vocals) brings his vast musical background to round out the trio with a touch of Bluegrass and early American styles. The trio has played various venues from Baton Rouge to St. Francisville to Biloxi, MS; from private parties to coffee houses and everything in between. They are currently working on their first CD, due out in December.
