Peg Roach Loyd and John Burleson were accidentally paired by Don Penzien at the 2006 CelticFest in Jackson, Ms. Having never performed together, the two arrived at the festival just in time and combined for a fun and impromptu set. Loyd and Burleson enjoyed performing together and got rave reviews, leading to return performances at CelticFest 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. From Burleson’s gift for storytelling and Loyd’s gifted voice for storytelling through songs, to the uplifting tunes and jazzy rhythms on bodhran and guitar, makes this a dynamic duo. Loyd, who released her debut CD, Carving in Stone, in 2008, has won three medals for songwriting at the Midwest Fleadh – Gold in 2008 for “The Fiddler’s Feet”; Bronze in 2009 for “The Forgotten Ten” and silver in 2010 for “’Til Night Became Day.” She has qualified for and competed in the All-Ireland Music Championships for three years running.
