TITLE: Ancient Pictish & Irish Artwork
SYNOPSIS: This workshop will explore the ancient world of Pictish & Irish art as it relates to culture, religion, the seasons, fertility and the broader Celtic scope of application. It will also discuss the origins of the images including the Norse/Viking/Dane influence.
BIO: Tom has been around the Celtic scene for quite a while now. He is one of the co-founders of the NELA Celtic Festival in West Monroe, Louisiana and has been a performer at both the NELA festival and Celtic Fest Mississippi in the past. He has a passion for all things Celtic and of late has begun study of the artwork of the Celts…namely Pictish (Ancient Scotland) and Irish art and how they both relate to their respective cultures.
