Joni Muggivan, TCRG directs the Muggivan School of Irish Dance (Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and Mandeville, Louisiana). Joni has studied Irish dancing since age 4, with teachers including world-renowned dancer Paul Tynan; superstars Jean Butler and Colin Dunne; and Mary Ann McGrath Swaim, TCRG, whom Joni says fostered in her a true love for the search for and acquisition of knowledge and expertise in competition, performance, and teaching. Joni has performed with artists including Legacy, Danny O’Flaherty, and The Celtic Folk; at NTIF, Notre Dame University, Celtic Cruise Lines, and Galveston’s Grand Opera House; and on the Poor Clares’ album, Change of Habit. She has competed in the U.S. and Ireland at the Championship level, and was the first Louisiana dancer to compete at the World Championships in Ireland. Her dancers can be seen at festivals, parades, parties, museums, and concert halls. In addition to teaching in her own three locations, Joni has given workshops all over, including Tokyo, Japan.
