Brían Ó Nuanáin
Bosier City, TX (via Cork City, Ireland)

Brian Ó NuanáinBorn, bred and buttered in Cork City, the Athens of the North. Worked as a teacher at all levels in France, England, Zimbabwe and the Middle East. Studied at Cork, Galway, University of Cambridge, and Jacksonville, and am now totally educated. Currently working as an Elementary Reading and Writing teacher to lower grades, because I like being taller than my students. Best job in the world.

At night, I teach "Ireland And Scotland, Here We Come"; a series of classes for bored adults and then I take these culture-vultures to Ireland in the summer on a bus for some panoramics by day and mainly into pubs at night. Fortunately, we haven't lost anyone, so far.

I also have a weekly radio slot "What Was I Thinking" on the local NPR station, where I get to prattle on about the economy, Rusty the dog, my underpants, and semiotic deconstruction. You can get away with anything round here it seems, once you have an Irish accent.
