db smithDudley-Brian Smith is a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist for the Scottish/Celtic acoustic quartet Smithfield Fair. A professional musician for nearly 40 years, he is also a historian and published journalist with BA and MJ degrees from LSU. He has made Scottish history a life-long study and published a number of articles in that vein, most notably in regard to the Jacobite Rebellion of 1745 and Appin Murder of 1752, which effectively ended that rebellion with the execution of James Stewart of Duror, known as James of the Glen. His family hails from Appin in West Argyll, Scotland.

Dudley-Brian is also a founding member of the Baton Rogue-based band, Smithfield Fair.
