Long-known as one of the foremost North American presenters of Scottish traditional music, Smithfield Fair celebrates 39 years of performances and recording in the fall of 2011 and 27 albums with the release of their newest – Every New Day. Initially known as Charmer, Bob, Jan & Dudley-Brian are all songwriters, vocalists and instrumentalists and contribute to the group's arrangements of new originals and long-standing traditional songs. Smithfield Fair performances are known for their intimacy, warmth, humor and the tight harmonies – or 'blood harmonies' - that are their trademark and they have been called 'the perfect cafe band'.
