SPOT/Albert SPOT/Albert is a duo with a unique "bend the rules" approach to their music.

SPOT (guitar, tenor banjo, vocals) ithis outstanding guitarist, multi-instrumentalist and composer will be performing solo this year, perhaps with some surprise guests. At the end of a summer tour that will have taken him through many nightclubs and coffeehouses all over the U.S., he'll be sure to please CelticFest audiences with unique interpretations of traditional tunes, original songs and compositions. In the past SPOT has shared stages with folks like Clandestine, Brian McNeill, Breton duo Jean-Michel Veillon & Yvon Riou as well as with artists like Sonic Youth, Mike Watt, Devotchka and Alejandro Escovedo. His latest releases are "Nae Plumb Nor Square" (solo and band recordings) and "In The Bag" (the duo with bodhran/percussionist ALBERT ALFONSO).

Albert Alfonso (drum maker, bodhran player) is the man the legendary Mick Moloney calls "The Celtic-Cuban Connection." He has performed and/or recorded with artists such as Solas, Altan, Liz Carroll, Roger Landes, Greenfields of America, Brian McNeill, John Doyle, Jerry Holland and J.P. Cormier. In addition, he has conducted drum workshops across North America as well as with the Royal Academy of Music in both Glasgow and London. Their new CD release is titled "In the Bag."
