Siusan O’Rourke & Zig Zeitler are a Renaissance couple: performers, teachers, songsmiths, multi-instrumentalists, cancer activists, purveyors of roots Americana & proprietors of the White Crow Conservatory, a premier Michigan folk venue. But it’s the music of the Irish-American heartland by which they are best known. Siusan is the daughter of a first-generation Irish family from Brooklyn New York, one of countless American blossoms from a rich, ancient culture. Whether it’s her originals or a song from deep in the tradition, Siusan’s dark alto voice is as enveloping & warm as a peat fire. A seasoned & versatile musician, Zig Zeitler brings long experience playing every kind of American roots music to the duo’s repertoire, particularly his dexterous instrumental skills on guitar, banjo, fiddle, harmonica, & especially the Irish bouzouki.
